Travel is picking up at Flint Bishop International Airport. So says Director Nino Sapone, who told Michigan News Network traffic was down big in April because of COVID-19.

“April was really a downfall,” Sapore said. “We were down 90, 92% of traffic, and right now we’re holding at about 58, 60%.”

Sapone says the Flint airport received $7.4 million from the Cares Act, which they’ll use for debt and operating costs. He says they did a survey and people do feel safer flying out of a smaller airport and they are doing temperature checks.
