Home sales in southeast Michigan were down 68% in May due to the economic shutdown because of the coronavirus. However, the CEO or Realcomp, Karen Kage, told Michigan News Network things are picking up.

“When you look at the pending sales coming in, once business picked up in May, and again we lost one full week in May because the realtors weren’t able to go back until May 7, those are only down about 14%,” Kage said. “So, there’s hope.”

Kage says realtors tell her they’ve never been busier, so she’s optimistic for home sales this summer. She says home prices were up about a half percent.
