“The Bold and the Beautiful” One Of The First Shows To Resume Production After Shutdown

Update:  Production on The Bold & The Beautiful has been paused just one day after returning to set.  Production for CBS soap opera was halted to “better accommodate the large volume of testing needed.”

A spokesperson shared in a statement. “We have paused very briefly to modify our testing protocol to better accommodate the large volume of testing neededSafety remains our top priority as we continue to move forward with the production of the Bold and the BeautifulB&B filmed with cast and crew today and it was a successful first day back at work.”

Production for The Bold & the Beautiful is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, June 23.

The Bold and the Beautiful is set to become the first scripted US series to resume production in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Filming was expected to begin on Wednesday, June 17, and viewers may start to see new episodes as soon as July. The CBS soap has been a staple of daytime television since 1987 and was recently renewed through 2022.

The show will follow the coronavirus safety protocols released by the city and work in agreement to the various Hollywood guilds. Regular testing for COVID-19 is part of the new protocols, and the show will work shorter days with varied call times. A coronavirus coordinator will also be on set to make sure guidelines are being follows, and masks will be required. Actors can remove them when filming.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
