SHOUT for South Haven is now selling a board game with a local twist. The organization’s Rosalie Plechaty tells WSJM News they’ve printed up Monopoly games that feature local attractions. They’re calling it South Haven-opoly.

“Everything on the board relates to South Haven, including all the cards, all the chance cards, all the fate cards,” Plechaty said.

Plechaty says the South Haven-opoly games use things like lighthouses, blueberries, and sailboats as the game pieces, and local businesses and attractions are featured throughout the board.

“Instead of railroads, we have blueberry farms. So those four very famous railroads on the Monopoly board are four blueberries, and each blueberry is a different farm, very specific to the South Haven area, which is pretty cool.”

SHOUT for South Haven worked with a Michigan company called Opoly Games to produce South Haven-opoly, and the games are for sale at the South Haven Visitors Bureau. All proceeds will go to support SHOUT for South Haven. Plechaty notes only 350 games are available.
