A fire was discovered by a passing South Haven police officer on Fruit Street on Sunday. The officer saw a garage on fire in the 400 block around 6:30 Sunday morning. South Haven Area Emergency Services reports that the fire also did damage to the siding of a neighboring home. The elderly resident of the home was not there at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
