The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a meeting this month about the Cook plant in Bridgman. Spokesperson Prema Chandrathil tells WSJM News this will be the annual safety performance meeting for the plant.
“We’re talking about the NRC’s oversight and the plant’s performance for the 2019 year,” Chandrathil said. “Overall, the plant operated safely, and that’s what we wanted to talk about, but we also wanted to make ourselves available for members of the public who have any questions about the plant, about the plant’s operation.”
Chandrathil says the meeting this year will be virtual.
“Members of the public are able to participate while staying safe and can communicate with our staff. There during the maeeting iwll be the branch chief, who’s in charge of the primary plant, but also the two resident inspectors.”
