The city of South Haven has installed some hand washing stations around the downtown area. The Downtown Development Authority and South Haven/Van Buren Convention and Visitor’s Bureau collaborated with the city on the effort. The goal is to create a “stay safe to stay open” environment with four handwashing stations in addition to the public restrooms already available. The four hand washing stations can be found on Phoenix Street at the west end of Dyckman Park, across the street by Subs-n-More, and at the corners of Phoenix and Center Street. They’re available all day and serviced once a week. Since their installation, supplies for them have been replenished often, which the city says means they’re clearly being used.
