Coming soon will be a new kind of radio station in southwest Michigan. Launching on Monday is QYQ radio, at 106.1 FM. QYQ Director of Content Bill Gamble tells WSJM News it will be an alternative station, but not the kind of alternative station you might already know.

“It’s going to play new music from bands like 21 Pilots and Billie Eilish and Panic at the Disco and Imagine Dragons,” Gamble said. “It will not be your older brother’s alternative radio station. This will not be the Pearl Jam radio station. This will be a radio station that focuses on new music and the sounds of today.”

Gamble says QYQ is for Millennials, those ages 20 to 40. It will be live on the air, or more importantly for its demographic, streamed at TheNewQYQ.com or through its app. QYQ launches live on the air Monday.
