The Berrien County Road Department says a shipment of large components for a Cass County gas plant will come through the area on Tuesday. The equipment will take up the entirety of John Beers Road as it makes its way to M-139 and south. It was supposed to arrive last week, but there was a delay. Berrien County Road Department Director Jason Latham told WSJM News last week the shipment will be quite the procession.

“Most likely there will be state police escorting, or an escort pilot company helping them get through,” Latham said. “Just pay attention and certainly follow any directions given by those officers or the pilot company out there.”

Latham says traffic on John Beers will be closed as the shipment passes through. That’s expected to be around noon Tuesday. Additional large equipment shipments to the gas plant will continue through the summer, and Latham says the road department will notify the public in advance when possible.
