From the Associated Press — A drawing has settled a tie in a small-town election in western Michigan. Tammy Jager finished third in the Republican primary for two seats on the Holton Township board in Muskegon County. But she gained one vote in a recount, which then pulled her into a tie with Brian Norton. How do you settle a tie? State law says a drawing is performed. WOOD-TV says Jager pulled a piece of paper Wednesday that said “elected.” Jager now advances to the fall election for township trustee.
