The United Way of Southwest Michigan is launching a voter registration campaign. Spokesperson Jennifer Tomshack tells WSJM News with September 22 being National Voter Registration Day, it’s spending all of the month helping people get signed up to vote.

“We’re going to be reaching out to people, mostly via digital marketing, but also through traditional media, to Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren County to lead people to a portal that we’ve created,” Tomshack said. “It’s very easy to use. You hjust have to simply click a button if you want to register to vote, and click a different button  if you want an absentee ballot.”

Tomshack says on September 22, the United Way will also engage the community on its social media platforms with a virtual voter registration event featuring prominent community members as guests. She wouldn’t tell us who those prominent guests will be. You can find the United Way’s voter registration portal here.
