Lake Michigan College is planning a community discussion about this week’s election. Set for Wednesday at 4 p.m., the virtual panel will take place over Zoom and feature LMC political science professor Tiffany Bohm and psychology professors Mya Hernandez and Amy Scrima. Bohm tells WSJM News there will be plenty to talk about.

“If there’s any uncertainty, we will be discussion that,” Bohm said. “If there’s any challenges or recounts or anything of that nature, we will be discussion those as well.”

Bohm says two psychology professors are part of the discussion because in 2016, the surprise result left many students on campus with anxiety. Has there ever been a presidential election like this one before?

“I thought 2016 was pretty exciting, but I definitely think that 2020 is going to be a new one for the books.”

Bohm says we may very well not know the results by the time Wednesday’s discussion takes place with the Michigan Secretary of State saying it could be Frida before all the absentee ballots are counted. Anyone who wants to take part in the discussion can do so by going here.
