St. Joseph Today will kick off the annual downtown luminaries on November 20. The organization’s Daniele Crevier tells WSJM News there will be around 1,000 luminaries lit up around the area, and special events will be held by businesses.
“We invite the community to stroll through the downtown as luminaries light your way and kick off the holiday shopping season,” Crevier said. “Participating locations are going to be open extended hours, and they invite you to eat, shop, and be merry.”
Downtown St. Joseph will be quite the site this winter.
“It’ll look a little different this year because State Street will have all of those winter lights that are wrapped on all the trees downtown as well. It’s going to be an extra winter wonderland this year.”
Plus, Light up the Bluff starts December 4 with around 1 million more lights. Crevier says when the luminaries are lit on the 20th, you’ll be able to get special deals at downtown shops and they’ll start to play Christmas music downtown. The luminaries will be up through February.
