Lake Michigan College is planning to celebrate this year’s International Week remotely this coming week. LMC nursing instructor Kathleen Szymanski tells WSJM News International Week is an annual event to celebrate cultures around the world.

“It goes along with supporting our college’s mission of helping employees, community members, students prepare for a world economy and global citizenship,” Szymanski said.

Normally, International Week is held on campus, but COVID means it’s all virtual this year. Szymanski says it all kicks off on Monday with a presentation on art.

“We are working on bringing you all virtual entertainment from theater productions and music and tours and different museums around the globe.”

Tuesday will bring Food and Art from Around the World with cooking demonstrations. Wednesday will feature “Sierra Leone – A presentation and discussion about partnerships and the impact of COVID-19.” The week wraps up with International Movie Night with the Japanese film Spirited Away from 6 to 9 p.m. You can find the links to participate at LakeMichiganCollege.edu/InternationalWeek.
