State Records More Than 7,000 New COVID Cases For Thursday

Michigan is reporting 7,146 additional cases of COVID-19 for Thursday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services coronavirus website says the state has now had a total of more than 380,000 cases of COVID since the pandemic started. The state recorded 175 additional deaths on Thursday, 112 of which were identified through a review of vital records. Michigan has had a total of 9,580 COVID deaths since March. For Thursday, the Berrien County Health Department’s COVID-19 dashboard shows the county with 99 new cases over Wednesday. The county has had a total of 6,697 cases with 114 deaths, an increase of four over the previous day. On Thursday, the county was showing 57 non-ICU hospitalizations and 5 patients in the intensive care unit. Van Buren County reported 47 new cases for Thursday, for a total of 2,899 since March. The state website says Van Buren County has had a total of 47 COVID deaths.
