Two of the largest jackpots in U.S. lottery history are fueling strong sales of Mega Millions and Powerball tickets in Michigan. Michigan Lottery spokesperson Jake Harris says even if you don’t win the jackpots, your money will go to a good cause.
“All of the lottery’s net proceeds go to the School Aid Fund,” reminds Harris. “In 2019, we contributed more than a billion dollars to that fund for the first time in the lottery’s history. All proceeds go to that fund regardless of what game you’re playing.”
The two combined jackpots now total over $1.3 billion, which is the highest combined total since October 2018.
