Now that indoor dining has resumed at restaurants around Michigan, the Berrien County Health Department has some safety tips for dining out. Spokesperson Gillian Conrad tells WSJM News eating out is a decision that should be made with some care.

“There are a lot of guidelines that restaurants must adhere to in order to offer that indoor dining experience, but people should consider their risk, and the best way to really reduce your risk is to keep doing the take out, the delivery, or even do the outdoor dining,” Conrad said.

Conrad says you should keep your mask on at all times except when you’re actually eating or drinking. She also recommends six feet between tables, no more than six people to a table, and no more than two households at a table. She notes restaurants have suffered tremendously during the pandemic, and urges all to support their local small businesses, but to do so in a safe manner.
