Now underway is the annual Y Country Cares for Kids St. Jude Radiothon. Y Country’s Matt Malone tells WSJM News the crew is broadcasting live from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. both Thursday and Friday to collect pledges for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It treats kids battling cancer free of charge.

“People can do what we call becoming a Partner in Hope,” Malone said. “What that means is you are donating $19 a month on a credit card to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that they can use to make sure that no patient, no family ever has to receive a bill or worry about how they are going to help their child live.”

Malone says Y Country raised more than $43,000 last year, and they hope to at least match that this year. For the past 15 years, Y Country has helped to raise more than $390,000 with the St. Jude radiothon. You can contribute at 975YCountry.com.
