College just became more affordable for prospective students considering Grand Valley State University. The school has announced it’s “Grand Valley Pledge” program offering free tuition toward a full undergraduate degree. Vice president of enrollment B. Donte Truss says the university is using their financial aid program to cover the cost.

“Well, we have a bit of an estimate but we want to you know see how many people respond to this,” says Truss. “We’ll know the specifics on that depending on how many people actually respond and do what it takes in order to take advantage of this.”

Eligible students will be from six counties where Grand Valley has satellite campuses: Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Calhoun, Grand Traverse and Wayne Counties, and from low-income families earning less than $50,000 a year.
