The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says a Decatur woman is facing a variety of charges after she was found in possession of meth. Sheriff’s deputies pulled over the 42-year-old woman in the 42,000 block of County Road 352 in Decatur Township around 7:40 a.m. after getting an anonymous tip the woman was delivering meth. A search of the vehicle turned up what police say was drug paraphernalia and the woman was taken to the Van Buren County Jail. That’s where staff found drugs. The sheriff’s department says the woman also tried to destroy several bags of presumed meth and flush it down the toilet. Deputies were able to recover 12 baggies and about seven grams of suspected meth. The woman is now charged with possession of meth and smuggling contraband into the jail, among other things.
