Michigan State Police say an 81-year-old Paw Paw man is dead following a crash that occurred last Thursday. Troopers were called to the scene at Red Arrow Highway near 41st Street in Paw Paw Township around 11:30 a.m. They learned two vehicles were eastbound on Red Arrow Highway when the lead vehicle, a silver passenger car, attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the road and was struck on the driver’s side front door by a trailing black passenger car. The driver of the silver car was Thomas Makowski, who later died from his injuries. The driver of the black car was a 44-year-old man from Kalamazoo. The crash remains under investigation.
