Michigan State Police say a Hagar Township man is in custody after he set fire to his own house Tuesday. Troopers from the Niles post were called to a house fire in the 3500 block of Chabot Road just before 12:30 p.m. It was determined the fire was intentionally set by the 48-year-old man who lives at the home following a marital dispute the previous night. The suspect was found a short time later and arrested in Van Buren County. He’s now in the Berrien County Jail on first degree arson charges. His name has not yet been rleased.
