COVID-19 cases are up by 1,245 for Wednesday in Michigan. The pandemic total is now 583,964. The state recorded 9 deaths to bring that total to 15,405. The state’s chief medical executive, Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, says there are worries.

“Now while we are pleased with these metrics, I am concerned that our testing numbers are declining across the state,” says Khaldun. “The weekly average for tests across the state last week was about 35,500 tests per day. In November we saw several days they were above 60,000 tests per day.”

In southwest Michigan, Berrien County’s cases are up 29 to 10,583 and Van Buren County is up four to 4,686. Deaths are the same as the day prior for both counties. Berrien has 219 and Van Buren has 84.
