Monday is the deadline for school districts to have a plan in place to return to in-person learning in Michigan. Governor Whitmer says 83% of districts have resumed having that option as of now.

“I am proud that 97% of our districts are on track to meet our goal to provide an in-learning option for students by March 1,” said Whitmer.

“The vast majority of school districts have been providing in-person learning since the beginning of the school year, with an exception of our pause of high schools due to the second wave in December that was putting our hospitals at risk of being overcrowded,” she said.

Whitmer says in-person learning is vital for kids’ social and emotional skills along with physical and mental health.
