State Releases Sunday, Monday COVID Numbers

New COVID-19 cases to be identified in Michigan for Sunday and Monday total 1,569. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that works out to an average of 784 per each day. The state also reported 12 COVID deaths for Sunday and Monday combined, making for a pandemic total of 15,534. Michigan’s had a total more than 589,000 cases of the illness since last March. The state’s coronavirus website shows Berrien County with 29 more cases than on Saturday for a total of 10,669. Berrien County has had 223 deaths, the same as on Saturday. Van Buren County on Monday reported just two new cases over Saturday for a pandemic total of 4,706. The county has had 85 deaths, the same as Saturday. The state’s vaccine dashboard shows 2.26 million doses given out as of Sunday. Berrien County has adminstered 36,500 doses. Van Buren County has adminstered 16,100.
