The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi’s Four Winds Casinos are using March to spread awareness about gambling addiction and how to get help. The Pokagons say around two million U.S. adults are estimated to meet the criteria for gambling disorder, and another four to six million are considered to meet criteria for problem gambling. With March Madness about to get underway, calls to the National Problem Gambling Helpline Network are expected to jump. Four Winds Casinos COO Frank Freedman says casino employees are trained on how to spot problem gambling and how to refer customers to help. The casinos also keep out brochures on problem gambling and allow guests to effectively ban themselves from the property if they wish.
