We now know who won the historic billion-dollar Mega Millions jackpot. The four-person Wolverine FLL Club matched all of the numbers drawn on January 22nd. The winning ticket was bought at Kroger on Grand River Avenue in Novi. Attorney Kurt Panouses represents the club.
“This is not just a generational money this multi-generational,” says Panouses. “Education is important to them. Obviously they want to do some scholarships as well, and they want to see this money actually help other people just like it helped them.”
The Club chose to receive their prize as a one-time lump sum payment and after taxes split about $557-million. The four members say they plan to stay humble and pay it forward through charitable giving in southeast Michigan.
