The executive director of Market Van Buren has been named one of the nation’s 2021 Economic Development 40 Under 40 awardees. Zack Morris got the honor during a virtual ceremony held this week. The awards program is hosted by Development Counsellors International, a New York-based marketing firm that works with economic development and travel organizations, and Jorgenson Consulting, a national executive search firm. A Committee of six economic developers and site selection consultants evaluated more than 200 nominees to pick the 40 Under 40. Morris has led Market Van Buren since 2016, and the group says in that time it’s ushered in 248 news jobs, $35.2 million of new investment, and is credited with fostering an overall economic impact of $62 million. Market Van Buren Tom Stanek says the “network and momentum” Morris is building “will pay dividends for our region.”
