Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria owner Marlena Pavlos-Hackney has been arrested for violating the state’s COVID-19 orders at her Holland restaurant. Attorney General Dana Nessel announced her arrest. Pavlos-Hackney is in jail in Lansing for violating the COVID-19 orders and operating her restaurant without a license, which was suspended months ago. A customer tested positive for COVID-19 two days after eating at the restaurant, which law enforcement says potentially exposed hundreds of customers. Prior to her arrest, Pavlos-Harkney vowed to keep the restaurant open and said she’d go to jail for as long as possible to fight the state’s “communist regime.”
