With the COVID-19 vaccination effort going well in Berrien County, there are plans to reopen the Berrien County Administration Building in St. Joseph. Speaking this past week, County Administrator Brian Dissette said admin will reopen to the public on April 5.

“The administration building will be completely reopened,” Dissette said. “The other departments such as animal control, health, roads, will still be on an appointment basis.”

Dissette said a security firm has been hired to handle health screenings of those who come into the admin building. They’ll do a contact-free temperature check and ask a few questions of those coming in. He notes departments like health and animal control have remained busy throughout the pandemic by following the appointment only model.
