Jennifer Fee will be the next superintendent of St. Joseph Public Schools, assuming contract negotiations go well. She was the only candidate invited back for a follow up interview with the board of education held on Wednesday, and told members she was impressed with the district during a tour Tuesday.

“The breadth of opportunities that exist in St. Joe and the course offerings that you have, the technology, the labs, the CTE, the planetarium, all of those things really allow students to explore and problem solve and be critical thinkers, and those are the skills that you need to meet those challenges in the future that we don’t even know what they are yet,” Fee said.

Board members said they were impressed with her credentials as an educator. Fee currently serves East Grand Rapids Public Schools as the assistant superintendent of instruction. She was previously the principal of East Grand Rapids High School. The board voted with no hesitation to hire following Wednesday’s interview. It was unanimous.
