Jill Adams will be the new Berrien County Parks Director following a vote by the Berrien County Board of Commissioners Thursday. You may know Adams from the community recycling events the county holds each year. She’s run them for several years. Commissioner Bob Harrison said Thursday she was the unanimous choice of the interview team.

“This is a replacement for Brian Bailey,” Harrison said. “I think all of you know Jill. She’s been with the county over 20 years. She was interviewed by a very select committee and strongly recommended for appointment.”

Commissioner Mamie Yarbrough said Adams has done a great job with the recycling program and with local youth.

“She’s a magnificent lady, and what she’s done with the recycling and how it’s moved up,” Yarbrough said. “She does excellent work.”

Adams will replace Brian Bailey. County Administrator Brian Dissette said Bailey has agreed to stay on part time to help with the transition. He said between Bailey and Adams, the county parks system will be in good hands. The commission’s vote to hire Adams was unanimous.
