Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has released a couple of videos on the dangers of scam robocalls and how everyone can avoid them. In them, she speaks with her parents, who almost fall victim to a couple of scammers. Nessel had some advice.
“Don’t trust your caller ID, verify you’re really talking to the person whose name appears when your phone rings,” Nessel says. “If you accidentally answer a robocall, hang up right away.”
Nessel says don’t give any information about yourself to a robocaller. She says if you do get a robocall, report it to her office at Michigan.gov/AGComplaints. The videos are below.
