The South Haven-Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau is getting a new director. Current Director Scott Reinert tells us he’s mostly retiring at the end of May. He’s been with the bureau about five and a half years and says there’s been plenty of growth in the area with more coming.
“There’s really a lot o great things happening in the area,” Reinert said. “The downtown is very vibrant. New shops and restaurants and things are going in. We’ve got some wonderful attractions and amenities. We’ve got a lot of things around recreation and trails happening. The Maritime Museum is undertaking a major expansion over the next year or so. So, a lot of things for the future.”
Set to replace Reinert when he steps down is Jennifer Sistrunk, born and raised in the area. She has done contract design and marketing work for the bureau for about three years. Reinert says he and the board are thrilled she’s taking over. She starts May 1 and Reinert will help with the transition. After he retires, he still plans to continue working on several long-term bureau projects.
