You know it’s almost summer when Mackinac Island is opening up for the season. Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau executive director, Tim Hygh, says the island will open April 30th.

“Everything’s looking good. Pre-reservations have been strong as people want to travel. We’re implementing our safety standards from a year ago and we are looking forward to a busy and safe summer,” says Hygh.

Hygh says the Lilac Festival will be held in June and they’ll be able to bring back a few things they weren’t able to have last year because of COVID-19.
