State COVID Numbers For Thursday

Michigan is reporting 4,867 new cases of COVID-19 for Thursday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the state has had a total of more than 809,000 COVID cases since the start of the pandemic and 17,139 deaths. There were 108 new deaths reported for Thursday, 75 of which were identified through a review of vital records. Berrien County was listed with 34 new cases over Wednesday, now at a total of 12,881 cases since the pandemic began. The county has had 245 deaths, up three from Wednesday. Van Buren County on Thursday reported 25 new cases for a pandemic total of 6,064. The county has had 97 deaths, up two for the day. Cass County listed 14 new cases for Thursday, with a total of 4,484 cases and 67 deaths, the same as the day before. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports there have been more than 6.16 million vaccine doses administered statewide. In Berrien County, vaccine doses are at 90,000. In Van Buren, they’re at 44,500, and in Cass County, 21,000 doses have been administered.
