Indiana Michigan Power is planning to do some tree trimming near its electrical lines around Indiana and southwest Michigan in the coming weeks. This will be an aerial tree trimming program, done with helicopters. I&M is working with LaRoche Tree and Aerial Solutions for the work. It starts this coming Monday and will continue four four to five weeks. The crews will be out each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tree-trimming tool will be suspended beneath a helicopter by a vertical boom with multiple motor power saw blades attached. The helicopter will fly at tree-top heights while working. I&M says aerial trimming is faster. If you see the crews at work, don’t be concerned.
