Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is advising everyone to be wary of COVID-19 related scams. She says in a new video your best bet is to get your COVID information from your doctor, pharmacy, or local health department.

“Be suspicious of any product that claims to treat COVID, and never purchase any so-called treatment over the internet,” Nessel said. “If you get a text, an email, or a phone call from someone you don’t know about a vaccine or treatment for COVID, don’t respond and don’t give out your personal information.”

Nessel says scammers view something like the pandemic as an opportunity to make a quick buck. In the video, she stops someone from getting what he’s told is a COVID vaccine from a tattoo artist. She then gets a tattoo herself.
