(Southfield, MI – AP) – Students in a suburban Detroit district who get vaccinated against COVID-19 will get a free ticket to the June 14 prom. The Southfield district said a donor who wants to be anonymous has pledged to cover the cost of the $80 ticket. Superintendent Jennifer Green says students without a vaccination won’t get the benefit. Green says the goal is to help seniors after a tumultuous year. Green says a vaccination is a person choice, and students who don’t get the shot won’t be separated or segregated at the prom. Critics held a protest Friday.
