Volunteers will be out at Warren Dunes State Park next Saturday removing invasive plants, and you’re invited to join them. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says June 26 will be a Volunteer Stewardship Workday. Everyone will meet at the Floral Lane entrance to the park at 10 a.m. and the day will continue through 1 p.m. The volunteers will remove garlic mustard. Those who take part are advised to bring gardening gloves, and tools including loppers and hand saws needed for shrub removal projects will be provided. Volunteers will be working off trail, so plan to climb and hike to reach work areas. Anyone who wants to sign up can do so by sending an email to lesliee1@michigan.gov.
