Whitmer Teams Up With Several Governors To Urge COVID Vaccination

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has once again teamed up with several governors from around the Midwest to encourage vaccination against COVID-19. The latest vaccine promotional video featuring the governors of Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, and Minnesota was released Friday. They ask one and all who are eligible to get the shot.

“If we get this done, we can build our economies back together, and emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever,” Whitmer says in the video.

Whitmer thanked those who have been vaccinated, saying they’re why Michigan is returning to normal. However, she says there’s still more to do. You can easily get a COVID shot at the county health department, local hospital, and pharmacies. You can also ask your doctor’s office. As of Friday, just shy of 62% of Michiganders age 16 and up had received at least one dose of the vaccine. 52.4% have been vaccinated in Berrien County. 54.9% have been vaccinated in Van Buren County, and 36.9% had been vaccinated in Cass County.
