Berrien County has nearly $135,000 to spend on programs for veterans thanks to a new state grant from the County Veteran Service Fund. Veterans Services Director Lee Lull tells us they’re still working on how it will be spent.

“We want to continue our Cycle/Recycle, which are commuter bikes for veterans,” says Lull. “We also want to continue with the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Military University classes. We’re looking into other things like therapeutic horseback riding and spa events for veterans, especially those with PTSD.”

Lull says the grant amount is more than the agency has received in the past from the CVSF. He says they have a deadline later this month to determine how it will be spent.
