Andrews University is planning a Congress on Social Justice for this fall. Chair of the planning committee Willie Hucks tells WSJM News they’re going to welcome guest speakers to explore several areas in which society is broken, not just in the U.S. but all over the world.

“In a nutshell, the Congress on Social Justice aims to address this brokenness,” Hucks said. “Ecological brokenness, societal brokenness, the disequilibrium that has come about as a result of this brokenness in relationships and otherwise.”

Topics will include sex trafficking, female genital mutilation, the environment, and race. Hucks says with the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University hosting the event, it’s hoped the future pastors, chaplains, and church administrators who attend will take what they’ve learned with them and apply the principles to their communities. The Congress on Social Justice will take place October 14 through October 16 at Andrews University. You can find out more right here.
