The city of Coloma will be celebrating Christmas in July this coming Saturday. Mayor Marsha Hammond tells WSJM News with the Glad Peach Festival canceled for the summer, the city wanted to give people other reasons to come downtown. So, it’s Christmas in Coloma from 1 to 5 p.m. at Baker Park on Saturday.

“We’re going to have Santa Claus in the park in flip flops and shorts, and we’re going to have a dunk tank there,” Hammond said. “We’re going to dunk some of Santa’s elves. We are going to have a kids duck race at 4:30 down by Freshwater Church on Paw Paw Street. We’re just going to have some kids games and activities.”

Hammond says The Loma will also have two free screenings of Elf. She notes Coloma will have some more summer events this year with the Eats in the Street festival on August 6 and 7, and a car show and pancake breakfast on August 8. Everyone’s invited to follow the city of Coloma on Facebook to stay in the loop about coming events.
