This weekend brings back one of St. Joseph Today’s largest annual events. Artists will be on Broad Street Friday through Sunday doing artwork for Chalk the Block. St. Joseph Today executive director Amy Zapal says there are things to watch every day.

“Attendees can watch as both amateur and professional artists prepare their squares on Friday evening. All day Saturday, they’ll begin working around 8 a.m. They can enjoy the completed chalk masterpieces on Sunday as that’s when the judging and winners are announced.”

She encourages people to check on it all three days.

“The coolest thing about it really is to come down on Friday night, grab dinner somewhere, walk around downtown, see the artists as they get started and then throughout the day on Saturday come back down and check on their progress. It’s really just amazing process.”

Attendees can vote for their favorite chalk masterpiece in the People’s Choice. Tickets will be sold at the People’s Choice Tent on Broad Street for one dollar each on Saturday from 12:00p-8:00p and Sunday from 11:00a-2:00p. One dollar equals one vote.
