President Joe Biden has signed a new executive order regarding electric vehicles. The executive order will boost the manufacturing of American-made electric vehicles while cutting automotive emissions. Congressman Dan Kildee was among the lawmakers at the White House for the signing.

“We need to aggressively pursue building those vehicles here in the United States by our workers,” says Kildee. “But we also know that if we don’t set a target, we never know when we’ve achieved any kind of success. So I think the President was right to to set an aggressive but achievable target.”

The target is to reach EV sales of between 40% and 50% by 2030, and is expected to be supported by General Motors, Ford Motor and Stellantis.
