After almost a year and a half, Michigan residents can travel to Canada for non-essential travel. But, it won’t be like it was in the past where you could just drive across the border with your passport. You have to plan your trip out in advance, according to Michael Prosia of the Canada Border Services Agency.

“The most important thing for them to be aware of is that fully vaccinated travelers must continue to complete a mandatory pre-arrival COVID-19 molecular test and to submit their mandatory information, which includes their proof of vaccination in English or French using the ArriveCAN app.”

Prosia says you have to complete it 72 hours before you arrive in Canada. In addition to all that, You need to take a COVID test within 72 hours of crossing. The ArriveCAN app will also ask for a quarantine plan in the event the test comes back positive.
