There will be a September 11 remembrance event in Benton Harbor on Friday. The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, with the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety and the Benton Township Police and Fire Departments, will be hosting a memorial to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of the attack on 9/11. Congressman Fred Upton and state Senator Kim LaSata will be there, and the event will include a memorial ceremony for all the firefighters, police officers, and EMS workers who died in the terror attacks. The memorial event will be at the Benton Harbor Resiliency Plaza in downtown Benton Harbor across from city hall at noon.
