The Southwest Michigan Tourist Council has launched a new program to reward art lovers for visiting local arts venues. Director Millicent Huminsky tells WSJM News Creative Connections is similar to the Makers Trail Passports. When you sign on to take part, you get points for visiting participating venues.

“There are 16 locations that are part of the Creative Connections Program, and it has three levels of play,” Huminsky said. “If you visit three places, you complete level one and that gets you a $15 dollar gift certificate that can be used at one of the Creative Connections locations. The second level, with three more visits for a total of six, you get a Creative Connections t-shirt and a signed Josh Nowicki print.”

The final prize, for staying at a participating hotel, is a Yeti mug. Locations that are part of Creative Connections include the GhostLight Theater, the Krasl Art Center, the Buchanan Art Center, and the Box Factory for the Arts. You can get a card to take part in Creative Connections at any participating location or at the office of the Southwest Michigan Tourist Council. Huminsky says the program is a way for a supporter of the arts to reward themselves for doing the things they love. You can find out more about Creative Connections right here.
