Honor Credit Union Releases Results Of Shred Events

Honor Credit Union says it has shredded 76,750 pounds of paper this year in 10 free shred events at 10 locations in Michigan. Stevensville shredded the most at 11,300 pounds, followed by Marquette at 10,000 pounds and Negaunee at 9,150 pounds. Kalamazoo shredded 8,200 pounds, Coloma had 7,900 pounds, Berrien Springs 7,200, Paw Paw with 6,300, Dowagiac with 6,000, followed by Battle Creek’s 5,900 and 4,800 pounds in Plainwell.

Honor says the environmental impact is 667 trees saved, 119 cubic yards of landfill space saved, nearly 285,000 saved gallons of water, and over 14,000 gallons of oil. The events were free and open to everyone wanting to destroy confidential documents.
